LADIES
MATCH NITE
There will be a Ladies
Match Nite
held at Boston Gun and Rifle Association
on the 4th Saturday of
every month, from 6pm to 9pm, starting on Saturday, January 26th.
The
match will be run IPSC style with 3 stages consisting of pins, plates, paper
and moving targets. Each stage will require approximately 30 plus rounds of
ammo. You should have a holster that covers the trigger of your gun and
several magazines or speed loaders. But don’t let a lack of equipment stop
you from coming!!!!! We are women!! We can improvise until you get the
right equipment!! You will need, however, your own firearm. 9mm or larger
is needed to knock over steel, but if you only have a .22, that’s o.k.!!
Again, we can improvise!!!
This
will be a cold range. All guns must be unloaded and holstered/or bagged,
until you are on the line to shoot.
New
shooters are encouraged to come, watch and hopefully get bitten by the
competition bug!!!!!!
The
fee for the match is $10.00 and there will be a cash prize awarded to the
“lucky target” winner!
Boston Gun and Rifle is located at 7 Faulkner Street, Dorchester, MA. Log

License To Carry
Firearms for All Lawful Purposes in Massachusetts
A lecture by:
Attorney Jesse C. Cohen
Fighting to protect gun owner's rights
in Massachusetts for over 6 years, attorney Cohen has earned his status as
one of the most experienced, knowledgeable, and respected firearms lawyers
in the Commonwealth.
After attending this lecture you will never look at Massachusetts Firearms
Law the same. You will understand the forces working against your efforts to
obtain and preserve an unrestricted Class A LTC. Through this understanding,
Attorney Cohen will provide you with the knowledge you need to empower
yourself to overcome the obstacles in your path. He will help you assess
your assets and liabilities before you begin the process. The licensing
process is a game like chess, where thinking several steps ahead and
evaluating contingencies will lead you closer to your goal.
Attorney Cohen offers these seminars throughout the year. Contact him
directly for future dates.

You
should have received a PIN with your new MA firearms permit. It is a 6 digit number found on a piece of paper with COMMONWEALTH OF
MASSACHUSETTS at the top.
If you did not get one, call your licensing
agent at the police department where you got your permit and request it.
Keep this number in your
cell phone under FOUR SEASONS. If we cannot get a readable finger print with
the biometric scanner, we will need your PIN to complete your purchase.

IMPORTANT
NOTICE TO ALL MASSACHUSETTS LTC and F.I.D. PERMIT HOLDERS:
We have heard from many customers that LTC and FID renewals are
taking up to
2
months
to process in some towns.
Do
not wait for the state to send you a renewal notice.
If you do, you may NOT receive your new LTC/FID in time. There is a
90 grace period on expired LTC only if you submit your renewal
application
before
the card expires. The 90 grace period allows you to continue to
possess your firearms; however you can't purchase firearms until
you receive your new LTC.
IN MEMORIAM, JIM LOMBARDI (Bass River Rod and Gun Club)
On Thursday, July 17th Jim Lombardi passed away in the night
leaving his beloved Bass River and his many friends. If you have read
the newsletter or followed events at Bass River then you are aware that Jim
was involved in almost all aspects of the Club. A past
President, long time Director, current Chairman of the Nominating Committee
and Committee Chairman of Outdoor Ranges comprised some of his numerous
administrative responsibilities. Now stand back for the sports because
Jim did it all. We’ll start with Practical Pistol Competition, NRA
National Gallery, IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation),
IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association), Black Powder
Competitions, and 3D Archery. If there was enough space, a host of
other activities would also be listed. Jim defined himself through his
intense involvement in the very fabric of Bass River. He was also well
known and highly respected by many at other Sporting Clubs in the Northeast.
We say farewell, but will not forget. “Just do it, you can do anything
that you want to do.” Dick Hurley |
There is a Bill that would limit your purchases to 1
firearm per month in order to "PREVENT THE ILLEGAL TRAFFICKING OF FIREARMS".
Click here for the proposed law:
http://www.state.ma.us/legis/bills/st00165.htm
Go to G.O.A.L.'s page which summarizes all the proposed laws:
http://www.goal.org/hearing.htm
WARNING:
Several Massachusetts politicians have also co-sponsored another bill that would
ban the sale of Bushmaster, Colt and other similar types of target rifles.
Let your local state reps know how you feel about this proposed
legislation.
We already have the most restrictive firearms laws in the country and to the
best of my knowledge crimes are not being
committed by law abiding, licensed citizens who own these rifles. However if,
big IF, these
laws go into effect you won't be able to buy these items in the future.

This photo is several years
old but we keep it here to remind us how important it is to support the
Juniors.
Massachusetts Rifle Junior
Small-bore Team
Looks for help in Raising Funds to go to
Camp Perry
During past years GOAL has helped revive the participation of
Massachusetts junior teams attending the National Matches at Camp Perry
Ohio. They have done a great job.
In order to keep the participation growing there comes a time where clubs
have to take on the responsibility of sending juniors from their own clubs
out to Camp Perry as part of their Clubs Junior Program.
This allows more kids to go out to Camp Perry with the GOAL Program.
The juniors have
fund raisers planed, such as raffles; flee market and a macaroni dinner.
If you have items that may be used for raffle items or the flea market they
can sell, please call Maureen Trickett 781-933-9020.
If you would like to make a personal donation or club donation, please make
the check out to Mass rifle Junior Program and clearly mark it with Camp
Perry Funds and send it Attn:
Charlie Trickett 4 George Avenue, Woburn MA
01801.
Any thing that
you can do to help out would be appreciated.
